A mid-Victorian rosewood veneered jewellery box, circa 1860s,

the lid inlaid with mother of pearl disk, the interior blue painted with pull out-tray. The base with letter dated 1868.


18cm (h) x 22cm (w) x 14.5cm (d)


A lovely example of a mid-Victorian box, the Victorians relished in this exoticisim of rosewood during this period and it would have been an exceptional gift for anyone at the time.


Condition

In lovely condition overall. A lock has been replaced and no longer functions. Hinges possibly a replacement, right hand hinge with repair. Interior of lift out tray has been removed leaving tears to lining paper.
