An early 19th-century mahogany fronted bowfront chest of drawers,

the shaped top over two short and three long graduated drawers, each fitted with turned handles, raised on later turned feet. With key.

87cm high x 107.5cm wide x 58cm deep.

This chest of drawers stood out to us as its low profile makes it a useful size for many spaces, whether in bedrooms, hallways, or front rooms. It leaves enough space for a good-sized picture above, and it also has a key! I have a feeling this may have started life as the top of a chest-on-chest; however, the conversion was done many moons ago, and it still serves as an incredibly robust and versatile piece of furniture.

Condition.

With the expected knocks, marks, chips and scratches that you would expect from a piece of this age. There are some dark ring marks to the left of the top. The handles of the two short drawers have been replaced with smaller rosewood handles. There are a few veneer repairs in the most vulnerable areas around the drawer edges.
