An early Victorian rosewood and inlaid tea caddy,

includes the period mixing bowl, and original lacquer interior, later brass feet.

Paper label for 'Greenin and Co, Fancy Depot, 13 North Street, Brighton'. This caddy will have been made some time between 1839 - 1845 as the shop became a tailors by 1846.


Condition:

Overall this caddy presents well, with the usual knocks, marks, chips, and scratches you would expect from a piece of this age. There has been an attempted repair to the inlay in the back left of the lid. There is a slight warp to the front right corner of the box, the interior of the box is relatively untouched, with repair to the left canister lid. Feet likely a replacement.
