The yoked toprail above wavy splats, outswept arms, and cane work seat, raised on tapering uprights and rocker supports united by double stretchers.

The histories of Morris & Co and Liberty's have been closely linked, with both making significant contributions to the Arts & Crafts Movement. While William Morris set up Morris & Co in 1875, he maintained a close relationship with Arthur Lasenby Liberty, who opened his world-famous shop in the same year.
